What is Entheos?
Entheos is an attempt to reform the structure and relational culture of our modern evangelical church by turning back to the “old paths where the good way is.” Our goals are simply to “excel still more” at walking in ways that are more pleasing to God, and most supportive of our loving one another as Jesus commanded.
Entheos is pronounced “in-tha-ose.” It is the New Testament Greek word that means “filled with God” and it is the root from which we derive our English word “enthusiasm.” When we are being filled with the Holy Spirit as God intended, we will be enthused!
At Entheos we believe that godly enthusiasm is an important part of what it means to “love one another fervently” and “whole-heartily.” Even in the hardest times, by God’s grace, we can still…

Other will catch our delight in God.At Entheos, we are enthused about proclaiming the good news concerning Jesus Christ and the kingdom of God. Jesus died to save us from our sins and rescue us from the wrath of God that we deserve. He rose from the dead as proof that His sacrifice succeeded. But what about the “kingdom of God?” Where does that fit in? “Seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness” has been down-played in recent years. But it is still the primary way by which Christ delivers so many wonderful benefits to His people, even during the hardest of times, just as He promised He would do in Matthew’s Gospel (see Matt. 6:24-34).
But how does it work? And what does it look like in practice? Being born again is the beginning of the Christian life, not the end. Jesus died for us so that we can get to live for Him. We do that by participating in the display of His goodness and wisdom in our own circumstances. The kingdom of God, then, is a set of right relationships moving through time— right relationships that can only be established and maintained properly by having the new heart for God and the Holy Spirit that comes by being born again by faith in Jesus.
In the kingdom of God men show their love for Jesus by loving their own wives, raising and make disciples of their own children, minding their own business interests, loving their own neighbors as themselves and participating in their own civic communities under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. These are the ministries that church leaders are intended to equip their members to do for the glory of God and the good of others.
And just how do they do that? First, by being examples of sound doctrine in action. And then, by advocating for and hosting the instruction needed, whether it be Parent Coaching, Home School Support Groups, Family Business Study Groups, Home Makers Study Groups, Hospitality Societies or Political Action Committees. These are good, wise, proven effective, old fashioned ways of being wise in the foolish world we live in today.
Christianity is basically living under the reign of a truly competent King whose law— the law of Christ— is to show your love for Him by loving others in the way He requires and on His behalf. This is how God’s kingdom actually provides for what the unbelieving world can only chase after in vain. There are temporal benefits to living in Christ’s eternal kingdom.
At Entheos Church we have found that the best, most efficient, and most effective way we can proclaim and demonstrate this good news concerning Jesus Christ and the reality of His kingdom is through the examples of our members as they practice what we preach. Our church ministry is a way life, not a program. By each of us living openly as Ambassadors for Christ, opening our own homes in our own neighborhoods to serve as Embassies of the kingdom of God, we allow the “old paths” to become, once again, a new and living Way.
If this explanation makes you feel excited, then Entheos might just be the right place for you and your household to enthusiastically live out your Christian life.
