Delight-Directed Study Groups

“Great are the works of the Lord, they are studied by all who delight in them.” (Psalm 111: 2) Delight is an intense pleasure of mind that draws people of all ages to study with both heart and mind. We all tend to read, write and speak most eloquently about whatever it is that delights us.

In doing so our enthusiasm can become contagious, like a mental sneeze, that allows us to spread our delights to others. We also catch delights from others. This mental contagion is part of the power of companionship. “Those who walk with the wise become wise” by catching the delights of the wise. But in the same way “the companion of fools will suffer harm” by catching the delights of the foolish. This explains why we work so hard at the Network to keep our activities age-integrated and led primarily by wise adults. We want everyone to have wise and godly friends to study with in an atmosphere of godly delight.

History shows that excellence in every field of endeavor is normally found, not in the formal classrooms of a school, but in the casual study groups, societies and academic clubs of fellow enthusiasts. In this way our Christian education ministry has been restored to our member's households where it can be delivered through delight-directed study groups. Hosting or joining such groups provides for much deeper friendships and a far better grasp on any topic of study.

Our Study Groups
& Book Tables
No one can do everything, but everyone should do something for personal study. New study groups are encouraged to start as desired around godly interests and delights (e.g. prayer, Bible study, systematic theology, family finances, music, home making, home schooling, child training, pro-life action, affinity group activities such as hiking & fishing, political action, and etc.).

Our Elders support and protect the purity of our church's doctrine by carefully reviewing and approvinging books, podcasts, audio materials and videos to be provided through our Book Tables and this website. Occasionally we have to denounce some materials deemed to be at odds with Christian doctrine. Quantities of recommended materials may be ordered as needed for study groups.
