In our growing Network of Neighborhood Churches, we encourage everyone to live “in one accord” as the Apostle Paul commands. “Fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind” (See Phil. 2:1-4.) Part of what this looks like is for everyone in the church to be ready to occasionally “drop everything” in an eager response to a crisis or opportunity.
This does not mean that everyone is expected to do the same thing, but rather that everyone is expected to do something in order to give it our best effort. It is the total mobilization of our metro area-wide church.
The joy that we experience when this happens is priceless. All our members, and especially our children, get to see their church in action in ways that will change their own lives forever.
We do not do this very often. We respect that each household has a normal schedule to maintain. But when the Elders and Deacons agree that a Full Accord Response is warranted, we put the word out to the church and ask for enthusiastic participation from every member.
